Squid's Rifleman Guide

The rifleman is the basic, entry level class in squad. This is the most often recommended class for beginners just trying to get the hang of the game.

Variants of the Rifleman

There are usually some variants of this class. Usually there are three variants. One with a magnified optic, one with a non-magnified optic, and one with no optic.

Each variant of the class has its strengths and weaknesses. The general trade off is concerning optics or grenades, foregrips, and binoculars. Usually, if you don't have an optic, you will have grenades and a foregrip, as well as a pair of binoculars to balance things out.

Going with the magnified optic is a common choice for new players, and it has its advantages. Obviously, the magnification allows you to clearly see enemies at farther distances. This is very helpful to new players trying to spot the enemy and get kills.
